Grant Assistance Program

Oregon Wave Energy Trust (OWET) offers financial assistance to project and technology developers to encourage the pursuit of public or private grants, or other similar funding, in the study or development of ocean renewable energy projects or technologies with a wave energy component that will create jobs and clean energy in Oregon.

Program Policies

OWET may reimburse an eligible, approved project or technology developer up to fifty percent (50%) of the costs incurred in hiring a qualified consultant to perform grant-writing services. The grant writer’s fee should not be more than 10 percent of the grant amount requested.

OWET’s average matching grant is $3,000, or approximately 10 percent of the potential grant award amount.
OWET’s match can be more depending on the complexity of the grant application and potential grant award, but in no event shall OWET’s reimbursement exceed $10,000.
OWET’s match is paid as a reimbursement.
Preference will be given to companies who lack grant-writing resources and apply for larger grants.
Enrollment is open each calendar year until November 30th.
Participants work with their selected consultant to complete the grant application by the required deadline.
OWET reserve the right to change program policies and guidelines.
