Oregon Wave Energy Trust
Outreach and Engagement
Oregon Sea Grant maintains a neutral role, working with all stakeholders through building processes for dialogue and engagement. Much of their work on wave energy has focused around creating organized groups of fishermen that are able to work directly with the wave energy industry. The Oregon Wave Energy Trust has supported these efforts by granting funds to Oregon Sea Grant, which are then funneled to these groups to continue their engagement. Other funded outreach and engagement efforts have included coast wide meetings for all fishermen, public community forums, and public workshops on marine spatial planning and fishing effort mapping.
